The Challenge:

Snow King is the Town hill, but it doesn’t make enough money to justify keeping the lifts running in the winter. The solutions being offered constitute a massive expansion of summer activity that will exacerbate our traffic and workforce housing problems while also permanently scaring forest adjacent to Town, and destroying wildlife habitat.

The Solution:

Snow King has a right to improve its operation, but not at the cost of destroying critical forest right on the Town’s border. The ballpark at the base of Snow King is too valuable an asset to trade away for a gondola base station. The massive increase in summer activity and job creation envisioned in Snow King’s expansion plan are too damaging to the character of our community. Snow King should make incremental improvements within its current footprint.
